Fans of the Super Eagles of Nigeria have remained unimpressed with the team’s performance despite recording an important 1-0 win over Guinea Bissau on Monday.

Nantes winger Moses Simon scored the solitary goal after full-back Bright Osayi-Samuel was fouled in Guinea Bissau’s 18-yard box.

The win sees the Super Eagles of Nigeria reclaim top spot in Group A in the 2023 AFCON qualifying stages.

Following the win, fans took to social media to lament the lackluster display by the Nigerians. Coach Jose Peseiro and forwards Samuel Chukwueze and Victor Osimhen came in for criticism from the fans.

Here are some reactions gathered by Sporting Tribune

@ShehuSani The Super Eagles that once conquered Brazil is now Struggling with Guinea Bissau,…Bissau…Bissau of all countries.

@biolakazeem What’s most perplexing about Chukwueze is that it is clear he has so much potential yet struggles with the basics & makes shocking choices in good positions. His form is so inconsistent & games for the Super Eagles seem to be the ones he chooses not to be on great form.

@Morris_Monye No communication whatsoever in this Super Eagles team. Disjointed.

@Tee_Classiquem1 I’m tired of being patience with Samuel Chukwueze, maybe he isn’t that player we think he is, he is just too inconsistent for a player who plays in one of the top 3 best league in the world, nothing is exiting about watching Super eagles play these days, just big names and vibes.@CalvinEmeka All of you insulting my Super Eagles, I have marked your handles. When we win AFCON, you will not be invited to the after-party.ALSO READ: Super Falcons aim for semi-final spot at 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup@_AsiwajuLerry All I want to say is if na the squad wey Super Eagles dey carry go AFCON be this, comot anything like Nigeria to win AFCON for your mind.
