Guinea-Bissau vs Nigeria: Chaotic scenes as fans invade pitch after game

Some fans of the Djurtus thronged the pitch following the referee's final whistle in Nigeria's 1-0 win over Guinea-Bissau in the 2023 Nations Cup qualifiers on Monday, March 27.

The mass of pitch invaders outnumbered the security personnel at post at the Estadio 24 Setembro in Bissau.

It is believed that some of these fans wanted to meet their favourites Super Eagles stars on display.

Moses Simon grabbed the only goal from the spot at the half-hour mark as the Super Eagles beat Guinea-Bissau to the top spot in Group A.

Jose Peseiro's side is back on top of the group with 9 points after 4 matches.

Guinea-Bissau are second with 7 points, followed by Sierra Leone in third place with 5 points.

Sao Tome and Principe sit at rock bottom with just a point.
