Two-time heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua has commended Nigerian youths for their resilience in demanding that the government scrap the Special Anti Robbery Squad in the country.

The 30-year-old British Nigerian lent his voice to the protest on his Twitter handle on Monday, October 12.

He joins the numerous sportsmen and women who have made their voices heard about the police brutality and other terrible going on in the country.

Although, the peaceful protests have not gone without the police brutalising the citizens - exactly the reasons the youths are calling for a reform in the police sector.

Joshua also sent a message to well-meaning Nigerians who have the power to make a change to use their offices to effect the change. He said on Twitter:

"Well done to all the Nigerians who have been protesting against SARS - those who made donations to fund organisations lobbying against it - those who have recently been informed & took time to educate themselves. Those with the power to make a change. Praying for Nigeria."

Meanwhile, the likes of Mesut Ozil of Arsenal, Anthony Rudiger of Chelsea, Rinsola Babajide of Liverpool Ladies among several others have joined the movement from their various destinations.

Also, Super Eagles stars are also contributing their quota where they are currently representing the country as the prepare for their second friendly game against Tunisia this week.

Barcelona women's striker Asisat Oshoala has been terrifically vocal on the issue that has seen the police extort and dehumanise the same set of people they are employed to protect.
