The South Korean league management has slapped FC Seoul with a fine for displaying sex dolls as fans in their stadium during their game against Gwangju FC as football actions resume.

Fans couldn't attend the game due to the ban on public gatherings in an attempt to curb the deadly COVID-19 virus in the country, having recorded at least 11,122 infections and 264 deaths so far.

Dozens of the dolls were kitted in the official club clothing, positioned to portray them cheering the team.

According to reports, the club was fined around 72,000 euros by the displeased K League for "causing serious damage to the image and integrity" of the competition.

FC Seoul have issued an apology, explaining they thought the dolls were mere mannequins.
