Sevilla vs Real Betis could begin LaLiga return on June 12

Spanish top-tier football, LaLiga Santander, has been reportedly billed to return on the 12th of June with the Seville derby, according to reports.

Sevilla and Real Betis at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Friday after months out due to the effects of the deadly coronavirus pandemic.

According to Marca who quoted COPE, the full schedule for the remaining 11 matchdays will be communicated to the top division's 20 clubs on May 28.

It should be noted that while this is LaLiga president Javier Tebas' ideal return date, it must receive the go-ahead from the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and the Spanish government.

As at the time of this report, the Spanish health ministry has recorded at least 279,524 infections and 27,888 fatalities as a result of COVID.

Barcelona, Real Madrid as well as Atletico Madrid amongst others all resumed training around two weeks ago.
