Black Stars of Ghana have recorded their first win at the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar after a hard-fought 3-2 victory over South Korea.

South Korea began the game on the front foot but couldn't capitalize on their chances as the Ghanaians pecked them back courtesy of Southampton's Mohammed Salisu's strike in the 24th minute.

Ajax's Kudus Mohammed added the second for the four-time African champions ten minutes later to ensure that Otto Addo's side went into the halftime break with a two-goal buffer.

The Asian champions came into the second half strongly to peck Ghana back by cancelling both goals courtesy of Gue-Sung's brace in the space of three minutes.

Kudus Mohammed would go ahead to grab his second of the game in the 68th minute as Ghana regained the lead.

It was a nervy ending for Ghana as Paulo Bento's side bombarded the Ghanaian defence till the blast of referee Anthony Taylor's whistle.

The Black Stars will take on Uruguay in their final group game on Friday, December 2.

Ghana has become the third African side to record a win in the tournament after Senegal and Morocco.
