Super Eagles striker Akor Adams has expressed delight after ending his goal drought in Sevilla’s emphatic victory over Real Oviedo in the Spanish La Liga.
Adams delivered an impressive performance as Sevilla thumped Oviedo 4–0 at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium on Sunday, December 14.
The 25-year-old opened the scoring in the fourth minute, ending his nine-game goal drought in all competitions.
Djibril Sow doubled Sevilla’s advantage in the 22nd minute, before Batista Mendy made it 3–0 in the 51st minute.
Akor Adams’ Super Eagles compatriot, Chidera Ejuke, added the icing on the cake in the 89th minute to seal a comprehensive victory for Los Rojiblancos.
Speaking after the match, Adams expressed optimism about scoring more goals for the Spanish side.
“I wouldn’t say that. The best is yet to come. The best thing is the three points, which we also deserved against Valencia,” Adams was quoted as saying by Elsevillista.
“It’s been a great match for me, for the team, and for the fans. It’s been a great day for everyone.
“I have the privilege of having been selected by Nigeria. It’s an opportunity you can’t say no to.”
