Former Super Eagles star advises young players to emulate Luka Modric

Ex international Duke Udi was full of praises for Croatia Captain Luka Modric following another great FIFA World Cup appearance.

Modric also starred at the 2018 World Cup edition, reaching the finals where they lost to France 4-2.

His Performance in 2018 helped him win the Ballon d’Or, becoming the only player in more than a decade to break the Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi duopoly.

The Real Madrid Midfielder is not calling time on his international career soon, stating that he’ll compete with the team for the UEFA Nations League semi-finals.

“He’s such a special football player, I watched him at the World Cup and he didn’t put a foot wrong or gave away the ball or wrong passes,” Duke Udi stated.

“He’s someone, I’ll recommend to young players for emulation. Modric has been playing at the highest level for years, yet no scandal, controversy or whatever.

“Not even Ronaldo and Messi can rival him when it comes to humility. He’s such a great example,” He told BrilaFM.

Since leaving Tottenham in 2012, Modric has won five Champions League titles and two FIFA World Cup medals at Real Madrid.
