The search for a new Super Eagles coach continues after Finidi George's resignation last month.
The 53-year-old stepped down after just two matches in charge and made a surprise return to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), signing with Rivers United last week.
He resigned following Nigeria's failure to beat South Africa and Benin Republic in the June World Cup qualifiers, with the Super Eagles drawing 1-1 with Bafana Bafana at home and losing 2-1 to Gernot Rohr's Benin Republic side in Abidjan.
The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has begun the process of finding a replacement, with several names being considered.
According to Score Nigeria, the NFF has started screening and interviewing foreign candidates who have expressed interest in the role.
The screening process is taking place both virtually and in person, depending on the candidate's preference.
The reports concludes that the NFF will not rule out the procedure used in appointing Gernot Rohr and Jose Peseiro, where the NFF president overruled the committee's recommendation to make the final decision.
