Boxing enthusiasts are fantasising about the idea of watching two acclaimed ‘kings of the street’, Adekunle Temitope, aka Small Doctor and Habeeb Okikiola, aka Portable, in a boxing match after training videos of the former have been going viral on social media recently, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

Small Doctor is popular among boxing enthusiasts who have seen him train inside the Police College, Ikeja, Lagos, among other locations, while Portable has headlined two celebrity fights, winning against Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington.

However, it seems a section of the fans want Portable to surrender his unbeaten run by daring Small Doctor.

A Facebook page, Comrades Bloggers, shared a sparring session of the Omo Better crooner with the caption, “Omoh Small Doctor too sabi. I’m going to place my bet on him vs Portable.” Meaning, he was in awe of Small Doctor’s skills and would place a bet on him to beat Portable.

The post sparked reactions from its followers, with some of them warning Portable against the idea.

“He will finish Portable. Small Doctor was a boxer before he switched to music,” a certain Adebowale Adeyinka posted.

One Ahmmed Taiwo also said, “Portable run ooo. Small Doctor trains inside the Police College. Original Agege boy.”

There were also a few supporters of the Zazu crooner.

Portable, all these are lies; he can never beat you. Let them pick a date,” Raji Olamilekan said.

“Yes, he is a good boxer, but size does matter too, and Portable has some boxing skills and stamina,” another fan, Olayinka Silva, wrote.

Shakur Adekunle added, “Let him go and fight portable. We are Sango and we are Agege.”

Meanwhile, the Secretary-General of the Nigeria Boxing Board of Control, Remi Aboderin, told PUNCH Sports Extra the conditions for such celebrity fights to hold.

“It must first be an NBBofC-sanctioned promoter, then there must be other fights on the card organised for such an event. It is not necessary that both boxers are the same weight, but it would be good, but not necessary, as both boxers can be different weights as long as they are willing to fight,” Aboderin said.

“Also, medicals and weigh-ins must be arranged for both fighters before stepping into the ring and an agreed price for the purse.”


If the fight becomes a reality, it might also be an avenue for Small Doctor and Portable to settle their scores after a series of beef between 2022 and 2023.
