Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has named four senior players he consults in the team before taking certain decisions.
The Malian tactician, in an interview with former Nigerian international Segun Odegbami on Eagle7 FM, stated emphatically that William Troost-Ekong remains the captain of the team.
The 47-year-old added that Troost-Ekong, Moses Simon, Wilfred Ndidi, and Victor Osimhen are his go-to persons in the team when he wants to deliver a message to the playing body.
“For me, my captain is William Troost-Ekong. I prefer to say this first.
“I’ve a little circle — we can say four players — that I turn to when I need to ask something.
“When I want something, the first persons I ask are William, Moses, Wilfred, and Osimhen. If I am not happy with the group, I talk to these guys.
“If I want to ask the players questions, I ask them first before I make my decision.”
Nigeria will face Gabon in a crucial FIFA World Cup qualifier playoff next month before facing either Cameroon or DR Congo in the final, should they progress from the playoff semifinal.
