Former Super Eagles midfielder Sunday Oliseh has congratulated Alex Iwobi, after making his 300th Premier League appearance last weekend.
Two weeks ago, Iwobi surpassed Sola Ameobi to become the Nigerian with the highest number of Premier League appearances.
Then, last week, he extended his record to 300 in Fulham's 2-1 loss at Newcastle United. The 29-year-old midfielder became the only Nigerian to make 300 appearances, a significant landmark for him.
Following Iwobi's feat, former Super Eagles player and coach Oliseh took to X to congratulate him.
“Congrats Alex! for me one, it is a real joy to see this player continue to improve. A true talent,” Oliseh wrote.
Iwobi made his Premier League debut for Arsenal on October 31, 2015, replacing Mesut Ozil in a 3-0 win Swansea. Before Fulham, he also played for Everton.
Alex Iwobi: After Breaking Nigerian Record, The African Record Is Next
Now that Alex Iwobi has broken the Nigerian record for most Premier League appearances, the next target for him is the African record.
Former Ivory Coast defender Kolo Toure (353) tops the list. Then, Mohamed Salah has 309, while Jordan Ayew and Wilfred Zaha have 305 each.

The Fulham midfielder is the first Nigerian to reach this milestone.
Four other African players have made 300+ PL appearances:

With the way Iwobi is playing, he looks almost certain to break Toure's record. Liverpool man Salah has been struggling and looks like he will leave the league soon.
However, Super Eagles star still has three years of good football in him, and he will always get minutes, whether at Fulham or elsewhere.
