The Super Eagles produced an outstanding performance against Benin Republic in their final game of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Tuesday, August 14.
The three-time African champions thrashed the Cheetahs 4-0 at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo to secure qualification for the African playoffs.
A sensational hat-trick from Victor Osimhen, along with a superb volley from Frank Onyeka, was enough to seal a playoff spot for Eric Chelle's side.
The Super Eagles qualified as one of the second-placed teams, alongside Gabon, Cameroon, and DR Congo.
Nigeria will now face Gabon in the semifinals of the playoffs in Morocco on November 13.
A win for the Super Eagles would see them take on either Cameroon or DR Congo in the final for the coveted continental ticket.
