Nigerian midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro has reportedly been named in the Super Eagles’ final squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

This was confirmed by Pisa head coach Alberto Gilardino after their Serie A clash against Parma on Monday, December 8.

The 21-year-old has attracted significant attention with his impressive performances for the newly promoted Serie A side this season.

Akinsanmiro is currently on loan at Pisa from Serie A giants Inter Milan.

He was expected to be named in the Super Eagles squad for the World Cup playoffs last month but was sidelined with an injury.

The young midfielder returned to action against Parma on Monday night in a match his side lost by a lone goal.

Gilardino revealed that the player will join the Super Eagles camp after their game against Lecce on Friday, December 12, indicating that he has been included in Eric Chelle’s final 28-man squad.

“Akinsanmiro? After Lecce (on December 12), he’ll miss several matches,” Gilardino was quoted as saying by FC Inter1908.

The Super Eagles will open camp for the AFCON on Monday, December 15.

Meanwhile, Eric Chelle is yet to officially name his final squad for the tournament.
