The Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) generated a total of ₦302.9 billion in revenue for the month of October 2026, marking a 7.13 per cent increase compared to the ₦282.79 billion recorded in September.
The revenue surge was confirmed in an official statement released by Chief Superintendent of Customs and Command Public Relations Officer, Isah Sulaiman.
According to the Command, the strong financial performance reflects intensified efforts to boost national revenue generation while expediting the clearance of legitimate maritime cargo.
The Command attributed the October performance to the operational strategies introduced by the Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Murtala Mu’azu, who assumed office on September 29, 2026.
Upon taking charge, Mu’azu prioritized the Service’s core strategy of consolidation, collaboration, and innovation, targeting long-standing friction points between port operators and customs officers.
Following his resumption, the CAC convened a critical stakeholder meeting with importers, exporters, licensed customs agents, shipping lines, and terminal operators to resolve operational bottlenecks—specifically addressing delays linked to Demand Notices and cargo clearance procedures.
Comptroller Mu’azu has also embarked on strategic visits to key industry partners within the Apapa port corridor to strengthen working relationships and streamline trade operations.
