The Federal Ministry of Education has reaffirmed that all Federal Unity Colleges nationwide will resume academic activities on Monday, September 14, 2026, as scheduled, assuring students, parents, guardians and other stakeholders that necessary arrangements are in place to support a safe, smooth and seamless commencement of the new academic session.
The Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, CON, gave the assurance noting that the safety and wellbeing of students and staff remain central to the Federal Government's commitment to providing a secure and conducive environment for teaching and learning.
Dr. Alausa stated that relevant security agencies have been duly informed of the resumption arrangements and are maintaining heightened vigilance around the Federal Unity Colleges and their immediate environments. He explained that the coordinated efforts are aimed at safeguarding students, staff and school communities as academic activities resume across the country.
The Minister therefore urged parents and guardians to remain calm, rely on official information and proceed with their preparations, ensuring that their children and wards return to their respective Federal Unity Colleges on Monday as scheduled.
He also directed school authorities to maintain close coordination with relevant security agencies and other appropriate authorities to facilitate an orderly and secure resumption.
Dr. Alausa further called on students, parents, teachers, school administrators and other stakeholders to work together in maintaining a peaceful, supportive and secure school environment, stressing that the safety and wellbeing of learners remain a shared responsibility.
