Abba Aliyu Tilde, the Senior Legislative Aide to Senator Shehu Buba Umar, has tendered his resignation following allegation that the lawmaker sponsors terrorism in Northern Nigeria.

According to him, the decision has not been an easy one, having served in the capacity with dedication, loyalty, commitment, and sincere respect for the Senator and the responsibilities entrusted to him.

Tilde revealed that throughout his time working with Shehu Buba, he made every effort to contribute meaningfully and to support his work to the best of his ability.

"However, I have reached a point where I can no longer continue in an environment where I feel that my efforts, presence, and position are not accorded the level of respect and regard that I believe is necessary for a productive working relationship.

"A particularly disappointing incident was your recent visit to my ward, where a meeting was held with people from my ward without any notification or communication to me. Given my position and my connection to the people of the ward, I found this deeply disrespectful and hurtful. I believe that, at the very least, I deserved to be informed and carried along.

"This incident, together with other experiences where I have felt ignored despite my continued efforts, has made me realise that it is no longer possible for me to continue working effectively under these circumstances. I cannot continue in a position where I feel that there is little regard for my contributions or for the relationship between us.

"I have always believed that any working relationship, particularly one involving political and public service, must be built on mutual respect, communication, trust, and recognition of one another's roles. Unfortunately, I no longer feel that these principles exist in our working relationship.

"I therefore believe that resigning is the most honourable decision for me at this point. I leave the position with a clear conscience, knowing that I have given my best and made every effort to discharge my responsibilities faithfully," He said.
