Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho has lifted the lid on his shocking move to Turkish second-tier club Bursaspor.

The 29-year-old joined the club on a free transfer despite keen interest from Celtic of the Scottish Premiership.

Iheanacho produced an impressive performance for Celtic last season, helping the club win a domestic double.

The Super Eagles striker, however, failed to reach an agreement with the club over a possible contract extension.

The former Leicester City man has now penned a new three-year deal with newly promoted Bursaspor.

Speaking on his surprising decision to join a second-tier Turkish club, Iheanacho disclosed that he was impressed with the club's current project.

"When I heard the project, they have and how they want to go all the way to the Super League and to play in Europe as well, I said this is a big project and it's very good for me to come and be involved and help the team," Iheanacho told the club's official website.
