Liverpool manager Arne Slot has talked up the quality of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen ahead of their crucial UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clash against Galatasaray.

The Turkish giants will host the Reds in the first leg of the tie at Rams Park later today, Tuesday, March 10.

Speaking ahead of Tuesday’s early kick-off, Slot described Osimhen as a player who can score in different ways.

“I think Galatasaray have a lot of weapons, but transition is definitely one of them. Of course, one of the first ones you think about is [Victor] Osimhen, who is also a great striker in the box, can score from crosses, can score in multiple ways, but definitely is a big threat on the counter-attack as well,” he said.

“But they have more than just Osimhen in their front three who are really fast. The last game we played against them, it was Barış Alper Yılmaz who was twice a bit too fast for us because twice he was going towards the goalkeeper in the first half.”

The second leg of the encounter will take place at Anfield next week.
