Popular businessman, Obinna Iyiegbu, who is popularly known as Obi Cuban, has commended President Bola Tinubu for the level of security in the south east during the festive period.

Iyiegbu applauded the president shortly after he was appointed as South-East Coordinator of the City Boy Movement.

Hosting Seyi Tinubu, he said, residents and visitors felt safe at home during that period.

“For the first time in a long while, we returned home in December and truly enjoyed Ala Igbo,” he said, adding that the improvement was the result of deliberate actions taken to tackle insecurity in the region.

Iyiegbu noted that enhanced security was already having a social and economic impact.

“When people feel safe, families reconnect and businesses return,” he said.

On his political alignment, he said engagement with those in power remained necessary to sustain security gains and development.

“The development of the South-East will be an all-inclusive project, politics aside,” he said, adding that progress is difficult without access to leadership.

“It will only be possible with good people in positions to advise those in power and help deliver meaningful outcomes for our people. My belief remains firm: lasting change comes from constructive engagement, not standing apart,” he added.

He also referenced President Bola Ahmed Tinubu while speaking on leadership and inclusion.

“Our nation’s leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is a man of commerce, and all of us need all of us to achieve our national aspirations,” he said, noting that sustaining peace in the South-East required cooperation across political and regional lines.

“Peace must be protected, and development must follow,” he concluded.
