2027: Vote APC or don't come out at all in Lagos - NURTW boss, Sego

Sego Sego

The Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Lagos State chapter, Mustapha Adekunle, a.k.a. Sego, has warned those who intend to work against the interest of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos.

Speaking during a meeting with NURTW members, Sego recalled how some forces worked against former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, in his bid to become President.

According to him, what will happen to such forces come 2027 will make them see the repercussions they faced in 2023 as child's play.

He said, "What you did in 2023, by not voting APC, we just left you to do it, and some of the things we did to you is child's play. In 2027, it either you vote APC or you do not come out to vote all, be warned.

"You will put meat in your mouth but won't find it. Anybody who makes any mistake in 2027... if you say you won't succumb, then we will not succumb too."

MyNigeria recently reported that Sego stated that saying Lagos is no man's land means your head is not correct.

According to him, Lagos State belongs to the Yoruba people, and he added that opinions from strangers about its governance will no longer be tolerated.

Sego said this while addressing his supporters during a campaign in Lagos, as seen in a video on social media.

"If someone calls Lagos a no man's land, it simply means that such a person's head is not correct. We Yoruba people own Lagos State. A stranger can't tell us what to do," he said in Yoruba.

Sego made this known days after the Ojora of Ijora and Iganmu Kingdom, Oba AbdulFatai Oyegbemi, dethroned six chiefs for attending the campaign flag-off of the Labour Party at the Apapa area of Lagos State.

The NURTW chairman was full of admiration for the monarch's actions, just as he spoke highly of him to his supporters.

"The reason why I specially greeted our father (King) is because five baales (chiefs) who went to associate with strangers, he summoned them and seized their caps and sent them packing," he said.

Furthermore, Sego said that if other monarchs emulated the king, "those people running their mouth will know that some people own Lagos State, and that it is not a no man's land."

He concluded by stating that he was seriously concerned about the ambitions of President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), which influenced his decisions.
