Nigerian-founded Moniepoint Inc. has been named among the United Kingdom’s leading fintech companies by CNBC, marking another milestone in its global expansion drive, it said in a statement.

Moniepoint, one of Africa’s largest business payments and digital banking platforms, was listed by CNBC in collaboration with market research firm Statista after a review of performance indicators including revenue growth, transaction volume and capital raised across 2023 and 2024.

The recognition comes months after the launch of MonieWorld, a digital service designed to provide remittances and financial products for Africans in the international diaspora, with the UK as its first overseas market.

Co-Founder and Group Chief Executive Tosin Eniolorunda said, “We are delighted to be honoured once again by CNBC, this time as one of the UK’s top fintech companies. We are Nigerian-founded and proud of our heritage, but we recognise the importance of the UK market as both a strategic bilateral trade partner and a vital remittance corridor for Africa.”

Founded in 2015 as TeamApt Inc. by Eniolorunda and Felix Ike, Moniepoint serves more than 10 million customers, processes over one billion transactions monthly worth more than $22 bn, and offers a suite of services spanning digital banking, credit, payments and business management tools.

The company has been named to several high-profile rankings this year, including TIME’s list of the 100 most influential companies and CNBC’s global list of the top 300 fintech firms. It has also featured in the Financial Times’ ranking of Africa’s fastest-growing companies for three consecutive years and CB Insights’ Fintech 100 list.

CNBC’s new UK list highlights leading players in Europe’s largest fintech market, spanning payments, digital assets and banking solutions.
