The Federal Fire Service has advised those waiting for the shortlist of those to be recruited into the service to ensure they eat while they await being called up.
In a brief recruitment notice on X, the service stated that they needed fit men to attend when training finally commenced.
It warned against having a pot belly as such gets in the way of the activities of a firefighter.
The notice read, "Dear Prospective Fire Officers-in-Waiting,
While you wait for the shortlist, please take note:
* Eat, I say EAT! (Hunger is not part of the training syllabus).
* Take care of your health (We need fit firefighters, not fainting champions).
* Sleep well (Counting fire trucks is better than counting sheep).
* Exercise a little (Your potbelly won’t fit inside bunker gear).
* Stay calm (The shortlist is coming—don’t burn yourself out before the fire does).
"Remember, the fire doesn’t wait for the unfit—so prepare well!
"Good morning!"
