The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), through its Yola Operations Office, has reported the damage done by a devastating windstorm that struck multiple communities in the Bali Local Government Area of Taraba State on June 2, 2025.

The agency stated that the affected communities include Anguwan Amare, Anguwan Hamidu, Anguwan Baki, and Sabon Layi in Kaigama Ward (Garba Chede).

It stated that the disaster followed a heavy downpour accompanied by violent winds, resulting in widespread destruction of property and public infrastructure.

"Preliminary findings reveal that over 300 households were affected, with around 1,800 individuals displaced. Approximately 300 structures, including homes, a church, and a school, were either damaged or completely destroyed," NEMA said.

Mr. Ladan Ayuba, Head of NEMA’s Yola Operations Office, expressed sympathy with the victims and assured that the agency, in collaboration with the Taraba State Emergency Management Agency (TSEMA), is undertaking further assessment to facilitate timely humanitarian support.
