Flood wreaks havoc in Taraba state

An early morning downpour in the Abuja Phase 2 and Nukkai areas of Jalingo, the capital city of Taraba State has led to the destruction of houses, animals, and farm crops estimated at millions of naira.

According to reports, the flood submerged not less than twenty houses in the communities.

A visit to the areas by the media showed that residents were struggling to get what they could from their submerged houses.

Sunday Aliyu, one of the residents in the state stated that the flood has really affected his entire community, adding that food items stores in houses were also taken by the beastly flood.

He called on the state government to rescue the community from the perennial menace of flooding.
