Nigerian international Nathan Tella has lauded Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany for his brilliant start to life with the Bavarians.

Kompany was appointed the new head coach of the record Bundesliga champions in late May, signing a three-year deal with the club.

The former Burnley coach replaced Thomas Tuchel after a trophyless 2023/2024 campaign.

Under the Belgian, Bayern Munich are currently at the top of the Bundesliga heading into Christmas.

Tella, who came off the bench for Leverkusen to score the only goal that eliminated Bayern Munich from the DFB Pokal on Tuesday night, heaped praise on his former boss for his impressive start to the campaign at Munich.

“He’s done an incredible job since he’s been there. He’s changed the dynamic of the team. They’re in a better place now than they were last season. They’ve been a really strong team, and I’m happy to win and to see him, but more importantly, the team’s good result today,” the 25-year-old told ESPN.

Tella and Kompany worked together at Burnley, winning the EFL Championship in the 2022/23 season.

The one-cap Super Eagles star registered 19 goals and provided five assists in 45 games under Kompany before joining Leverkusen.
