'I'm happy she lost' - Jubilations as INEC declares Adamawa governorship poll inconclusive

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the governorship election held on Saturday, March 18 in Adamawa State inconclusive.

According to INEC, the decision was due to the margin of votes recorded in the election by the contestants.

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the state Senator Aishatu Dahiru popularly known as Binani garnered 390,275 votes, while Ahmadu Fintiri, the incumbent governor and the candidate of the People's Democratic Party, received 421,524.

Elections were canceled in 69 polling places, Prof. Mohamed Mele, the state's collation officer, reported. This had an impact on no less than 37,016 PVC-carrying potential voters.

Following INEC's declaration of the polls in the state as being inconclusive, many people have reacteed to the development.

Some social media users expressed excitement over INEC's decision as they said Binani had allegedly looted billions of money meant for children hence making her incompetent for the position.
