The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State Caleb Mutfwang was declared victor of the Saturday, March 18 polls in the state.

INEC's presiding officer Musa Yusuf declared Mutfwang winner after the vote had been counted and Mutfwang had received the majority of the votes against his closest contender Nentawe Yilwatda of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Another development was Ismail defeating the Speaker, who received 9,530 votes, with a vote total of 11,213 votes.

Similar to this, Bello Muhammad Mazawaje of the PDP defeated Yankuzo by 13,820 votes to win the position of deputy speaker of the state assembly.
