Former Lagos State Deputy Governor, Kofo Bucknor-Akerele has declared her support for Labour Party governorship candidate, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.

Speaking during a press conference on Wednesday, March 8, she urged Lagosians to come out and vote for him during the gubernatorial election scheduled to hold on March 18.

Bucknor-Akerele who was Bola Tinubu's deputy between 1999-2003 appealed to LP supporters popularly known as ‘Obidients’, to free the state from the “tyranny” of All Progressives Congress which she said has lasted over 20 years.

She also applauded the youths for coming out in their numbers to vote during the Presidential National Assembly elections held on February 25; adding that freedom has just begun for the state.

“Please come out in your millions. We registered over seven million votes in Lagos State. What happened? We know the figure that they wrote for us is not the correct figure but I beg you all, all of you who have voter cards, come out and free us from the tyranny that we have been undergoing for the last 20 years and more.”

The former deputy governor said Lagos has had “enough of rule by touts, urging the Obidients not to be intimidated by political thugs who might want to harm them.”
