The Governor of Abia State, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, on Wednesday, March 8, issued an immediate promotion of workers at various levels in order to increase productivity few days to the 2023 governorship election.

Ikpeazu claimed that his administration had more than 5000 employees in spite of some people's recommendation to fire them.

He claimed that because he was aware of the consequences of firing employees, he chose to hire more people.

He added that he was constantly thinking about the welfare of the workforce, pointing out that heaven can only exist in a perfect system.

The Governor expressed optimism that the following PDP administration will continue the work he started.

Even as he steps down, Governor Ikpeazu, who acknowledged that he had not yet resolved all of the state's issues, stated that he had accomplished enough to be recognized, and he promised that Chief Okey Ahiwe, the party's nominee for governor, will perform better than he had due to his experience.

The Governor's decision angered many social media users who stated that the promotion was only a ploy for people of Abia state to vote for the PDP candidate in the upcoming Guber elections which will take place on Saturday, Mrch 11, 2023.
