A Tinubu presidency is possibly not what Nigerians want

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is likely to run for the 2023 presidency

The race for who will be the next president of Nigeria is gradually gaining momentum. Various political actors who are eyeing an opportunity to replace President Buhari have begun subtle campaign ahead of the polls.

One man whose name has been mentioned as the leading contender and possible flagbearer for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is the national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The former Lagos governor and founder of the party is rumored to be nursing his presidential ambitions despite not openly declaring interest in it.

Persons and groups close to Tinubu have not hidden their interest in pushing the agenda of a Bola Tinubu presidency. While he has come out to distance himself from these groups, one thing everyone can see is that Tinubu has been preparing himself for the big job.

The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) meanwhile is bent on discrediting Bola Tinubu should he decide to run for office in 2023. A recent poll by a former presidential aide, Reno Omokri on his Instagram account might prove Bola Tinubu isn't marketable as many believe.
