President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has inaugurated the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council in Abuja, pledging to prioritize the responsibilities of governance and national economic stability over electioneering ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Addressing party leaders, state governors, and campaign officials on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, the President instructed the campaign council to take the administration’s message to every ward across the country while he remains focused on managing affairs of state.

Tinubu emphasized that Nigeria’s financial obligations, investor commitments, and ongoing macroeconomic reforms require uninterrupted executive leadership. "You have warned me and asked me not to allow rigours of the campaign distract me from governance. I hear you. I am in full agreement with your decision.

"Nigeria needs more attention now than ever before. The responsibility of this office does not pause... We have bills to pay. The American creditors cannot wait. We want those investors to come in, be here to stay, to invest for the future of our children, " President Tinubu stated.
