You make us proud — Minister urges Nigerians to vote for Soye in Miss World 2026

Nigeria's Minister of Arts, Culture and Tourism, Hannatu Musa Musawa, has expressed excitement after Tamunosoye Karibi-George, a.k.a Soye, emerged as Top Model in Miss World 2026.

According to Musawa, the way Soye carry Nigeria’s name with grace, confidence and purpose on the Miss World stage has made the country incredibly proud.

The minister stated that emerging as Africa’s Top Model and securing her place in the Top 40 is a remarkable achievement. "But beyond the competition, you have used this platform to showcase Nigeria to the world, speak about issues that truly matter, and inspire so many young people," she said.

"Nigerians continue to stand with you. There are just 9 hours left to vote, and the window is closing fast. Soye needs every vote, and every point matters for the stages ahead.

"Please, let’s come together, vote, share and encourage others to do the same. Queen Soye, Nigeria is behind you."

Soye is a communications professional, voice-over artist, and professional model from Nigeria with a passion for storytelling and meaningful impact. She enjoys baking, community service, mentoring young people, swimming, singing, basketball, and contemporary dance.

Guided by purpose and compassion, she uses her voice and platform to inspire positive change and champion inclusion. Soye’s future ambition is to become a globally recognised communications strategist, model, and advocate, creating opportunities for marginalised communities across Africa and beyond.

She is committed to empowering others, amplifying underrepresented voices, and building a world where everyone is seen, heard, and valued. Personal Motto: “Embrace your story, trust your process and be your authentic self.”
