Political and social commentator, Martin Otse, who is popularly known as VeryDarkMan, says every Nigerian is an event from death.
VeryDarkman commented on a video shared on his Instagram page as he shared his concerns about the deadly killings in Plateau state, which have claimed the lives of almost 30 Nigerians.
VDM has been a major critic of the current administration and has repeatedly called on President Bola Tinubu not to run from the presidency in 2027.
He said in an excerpt of the video: "If you are living in Nigeria today, you are one event away from an RIP being tagged to your picture. I am telling you, from what happened there, you are just one event away from dying because we never know were this people are attacking from.
Recall at least 27 people have been killed in an attack on a mostly Christian community in Plateau State, Nigeria, on Palm Sunday.
The incident happened at around 8pm, when unidentified gunmen opened fire at a popular gathering spot in Angwan Rukuba in the city of Jos. The death toll is unclear, but according to reports, 14 died at the scene and 13 died in the hospital. Not all victims are Christians.
A 48-hour curfew has since been implemented and, in a statement, Governor Caleb Manasseh Muftwang said the state government ‘strongly condemns this barbaric and unprovoked attack on innocent citizens and assures the public that all necessary measures are being taken to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice’.
