Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has lavished praise on his Galatasaray teammates following their draw with Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.

The Turkish champions held the Spanish giants to a 1-1 draw at RAMS Park in their penultimate game of the league phase.

Giuliano Simeone gave Atleti an early lead in the fourth minute before Galatasaray equalised through an own goal by Marcos Llorente.

Osimhen, who had just returned from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), reclaimed his place in the starting line-up.

The 27-year-old hailed his team’s effort and fighting spirit throughout the 90 minutes against Diego Simeone’s side.

“I really missed everyone, especially the fans, a lot. We knew before the game that we would face a tough team,” Osimhen told the club’s official website.

“I want to praise my teammates for their effort during the entire 90 minutes; we played well against a strong team.

“The match was 50-50. We had opportunities to end the game at certain moments. I’m satisfied with how we played.”
