Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has revealed why Cole Palmer did not feature against Pafos in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.
The Blues secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over the Cypriot side, courtesy of Moises Caicedo’s header in the 78th minute.
The win propelled Chelsea to eighth position in the UCL standings and strengthened their chances of automatic qualification for the knockout phase.
Speaking in his post-match reaction, Rosenior disclosed that Palmer sustained a slight thigh injury.
However, he added that the England international will be available for their next Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.
“Cole felt a little bit of tightness in his thigh,” Rosenior said.
“He just misses out, but he should be absolutely fine for Sunday.”
