The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, issued a stern warning on Friday, stating that he and his supporters would forcibly gain access to Yakubu Gowon Stadium for their upcoming rally if the Rivers State Government continued to deny them entry. He emphasized that "heaven will not fall" should the facility be breached.

Wike made this declaration in Port Harcourt during the launch of senatorial and local government coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, an event organized to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He also revealed that his team had submitted an official request to use the stadium but was denied, a move he described as unprecedented.

"We applied to the state government to use the Yakubu Gowon Stadium and they refused. Next time, if we apply and they refuse again, we will break it and nothing will happen," Wike said.
