An audio that appears to be leaked from a Twitter Spaces session with members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged on social media and has been forwarded to several WhatsApp groups.

The session titled: Obidocry: The Ibom Air flight comedy had more than 500 participants logged in.

A participant who was leading the discussion at the time the screen recording was taken was heard urging followers of the ruling party to be aggressive with their propaganda against the opposition parties especially Obidients, the supporters of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party.

He said in excerpts of the 1:13 minutes video: "This is not the time to be sane. If they say Asiwaju is a drug dealer, Peter Obi is a drug dealer. Me myself (mentions name) they no go bring am come near me. They won't, they no born them well. It is gbos for gbas. If you tell me Shettima is Boko Haram, Peter Obi is IPOB."

"If you cry, cry, if you no like break your head. The time for being civil is gone. We have won the elections so should they bring their nonsense, give it to them back."

MyNigeria couldn't if the session was held before or after the 2023 general elections.

The just-concluded elections that saw Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as president-elect have been contested by the opposition parties with election monitors decrying voter suppression, manipulation and fraud.

Peter Obi who has been a direct beneficiary of the judicial system in Nigeria after winning several cases from his time as Anambra governor has filed a court petition challenging the outcome of last month’s disputed presidential election.

Obi finished third with more than 6 million votes.

“We are challenging the qualifications of the candidate that was declared the winner. We are also challenging the processes that led to his declaration as the winner, among others,” Labour Party spokesperson Yunusa Tanko told journalists.
