The spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Felix Morka has said former presidential candidate Peter Obi is shopping for a party where he can easily clinch the presidential ticket.
Speaking on Channels TV, Morka said, "Peter Obi is perpetually shopping for a party where he can clinch tickets uncontested; he does not want to build a party; he cannot build a party."
Morka said this amid rumours linking Obi to an exit from the Africa. Democratic Congress, as the party's ticket becomes elusive. Reports also indicate that he's not willing to deputize former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who seems certain to clinch the ADC ticket.
In other news, 'Demola Olarewaju, the Senior Assistant to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said being Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is not a joke but a very very big deal.
According to him,: being VP (and loyal to SMY) is Atiku’s entire political portfolio, revealing that his boss left office since 2007 and is still relevant 20 years after - all because of VP.
In a post on X, Olarewaju said the position is never offered - it is sought for and even fought for.
Atiku's aide said this amid calls from supporters of former presidential candidate Peter Obi concerning the presidential ticket if the African Democratic Congress, a party Obi and Atiku belong to.
According to the supporters, know as Obidients, Atiku should run for the 2027 general election as Obi's running mate.
Reacting Olarewaju said, "Atiku Abubakar is constitutionally unable to be VP again, after having served as VP for eight years already.
"How we have to explain this shows we perhaps need to do more to make it clear to those who don’t understand
"The point of my VP posts last night for slow folks wasn’t to say any should accept VP offer, quite the contrary: I’m saying it is NOT something to offer.
"It is fought for and for 2027 - it will be.
"And not only one South ethnicity will step forward to fight.
