Nigerian TikTok influencer Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has shared an emotional update following widespread reports of his alleged abduction.
In a photo shared on his Instagram story, Peller appeared visibly emotional, lying down with what seemed like teary eyes.
The post was accompanied by a short caption that read: "Thank God for life."
This comes after social media went into a frenzy on Thursday morning, after a clip showing Peller in a confrontation with armed men near a white minibus went viral.
The footage ended abruptly, leading many to believe he had been kidnapped. The incident quickly gained traction on TikTok, Instagram, and X, with fans and followers demanding immediate intervention.
Police speak on Peller
In response, the Lagos State Police Command dismissed the kidnapping claims. According to the police, Peller was never abducted, and preliminary investigations showed he was safe and unhurt.
They stated that the video had been misinterpreted and the situation exaggerated by online users.
Police spokesperson CSP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed that Peller’s personal belongings, including his phones and car, were all intact, and no harm had come to him.
He cautioned the public against spreading misinformation that could cause unnecessary panic.
However, Peller’s recent post has raised more questions, with many fans still expressing concern over his well-being.
In another post, Peller tendered an apology to anyone he has offended.
He wrote: "If u know I have offended u before please forgive me I promise to be on my best behavior this time any of u that put me in mind please forgive me I promise to makes things right this time God bless u all I don't mean most things I do online am more than a good boy in real life i will leave social media myself when it time u guys can chase me away because I build this myself. u guys should handle me with care."
