Bishop David Abioye of Living Word Conqueror Global Assembly has stated that the primary cause of the sufferings in Nigeria and other African Nations is the absence of visionary leaders.
While ministering on Sunday, Bishop Abioye stated that African leaders are more interested in their personal gains than the interests of the masses.
He lamented that some third-world nations 10 years ago have graduated into first-class nations because of their visionary leaders.
He cited Malaysia as an example, which took palm kernel from Nigeria and started using it to their advantage by producing palm oil, which has transformed the nation.
“The suffering that we are going through is purely based on lack of vision.” He further led the congregation to "pray for God to give Nigeria and other African Nations visionary leaders.”
He also reiterated that some states in Nigeria, within the space of two years, have advanced due to their visionary Governors, while others have languished because they lack visionary leaders.
He stated that the reason for the lack of transformation in some states is that they have a consumer mentality rather than an inspiring one.
He concluded that transformation begins with the citizens. “Everybody is a leader, beginning from your family,” he stated. “What vision do you have for your family?” he asked.
