Nigeria vs Ghana: Friendly should prove we are a formidable team - Lookman

Super Eagles winger, Ademola Lookman has urged his teammates to back their impressive showing at the just-ended Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire in the upcoming friendly scheduled for this week.

The Eagles finished second in the tournament despite not being favorites from the onset.

Lookman who was one of the key figures in Jose Peseiro's team stressed the importance of winning the upcoming friendly against Ghana and Mali.

The Super Eagles, are scheduled to play the Black Stars on Friday, March 22 and on Tuesday, March 26 will clash with the Eagles, both at the Grande Stade de Marrakech.

The friendlies will be the first for the Super Eagles after the AFCON.

“We need to demonstrate the level of performance expected of us, reflecting on our AFCON journey. These friendlies are a prime opportunity for us to assert ourselves as a formidable team,” he said.

Lookman articulated, underlining the team’s anticipation for the upcoming fixtures. “We remain a cohesive unit, filled with familiar faces and newcomers alike.

The team spirit is high, and we’re eager to be back in action together,” Lookman remarked, reflecting on the team’s cohesion and unity.
