Nigerian-American coach Micheal Nsien has touted himself as the best candidate to become the next head coach of the Super Eagles.

The hunt for the next gaffer to lead the Super Eagles is still on after the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) declared the position vacant after parting ways with Portuguese tactician José Peseiro at the end of last month.

The NFF have reportedly received applications from candidates who have expressed interest in becoming the next coach of the three-time African champions.

Nsien, who is currently in charge of the United States U-19 team believes he has the qualities to excel in the sought after role.

“I am the best of both worlds,” Nsien said during an interview with TVC.

“As a Nigerian-American, I have a passion for the Super Eagles; I also know the responsibilities that come with that position as head coach.

“I have experience working in an environment that spares no expenses in technology, has top scouting infrastructure, and coaching collaboration from top to bottom.

“I know where we are at in Nigerian football, and I know the gap that exists. I can bridge the gap and help us reach the level that we should be at in world football. It’s time to change course and move forward. I want to put smiles on the faces of our people.”
