Super Eagles defenders, Kenneth Omeruo and Calvin Bassey didn't take part in the training session on Wednesday, March 20 casting doubt on their availability for the crucial friendly against the Black Stars of Ghana.

Both players were crucial to the success of the team in the just-ended Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023 in Cote d'Ivoire.

The team had their second training session on Wednesday night. The duo will need to prove they are fit for the game in another training session on Thursday, March 21 (today).

With Semi Ajayi and Chidozie Awaziem fit for the game, interim coach, Finidi George should have no stress selecting a strong backline.

The team will be missing several key players including Victor Osimhen, Taiwo Awoniyi, Tyrone Ebuehi abd Gabriel Osho who were forced to withdraw due to injuries.

The Super Eagles are not the only side missing out on key members of their squad.
Local reports indicate West Ham forward, Mohammed Kudus will miss the game after opting out due to injury. He will be replaced by Cercle Brugge midfielder Francis Abu.

Kudus who is an integral part of the West Ham team sustained an injury in the 1-1 draw against Aston Villa last weekend.

The Super Eagles will take on Ghana at the Grande Stade de Marrakech on Friday and also face Mali at the same venue next week on Tuesday.
