Lagos real estate industry is armed robbery - Media personality, Frank Edoho

Nigerian media figure Frank Edoho has voiced his concern over the soaring real estate prices in Lagos, questioning how affordable such properties truly are for Nigerians.

During a recent episode of The KK Show, Frank highlighted that the skyrocketing cost of homes in Nigeria’s commercial capital is tough to justify given the country's economic conditions.

He drew a comparison between luxury housing prices in other countries and those in Lagos, noting that some Lagos properties are nearly priced like islands abroad.

“Lagos real estate prices, the real estate industry, I think it’s armed robbery. Leonardo DiCaprio owns an island. The cost of the whole island is $1.7 million. There is a house in Osapa—they call it a mansion—that is $1.5 million. Osapa that has no drainage. What are we talking about? It’s armed robbery,” he said.

The broadcaster also noted that the current minimum wage of the country does not keep pace with the cost of luxury properties.
