A Boeing 737 plane carrying 176 passengers and crew which went down after takeoff from Imam Khomeini Airport in Tehran, Iran's capital, has been suspected to be as a result of an attack.

However, according to the Imam Khomeini International Airport, the aircraft suffered technical problems before it went down.

The aircraft went down eight minutes after take off from the airport around the same time Iraqi bases housing US troops were attacked by Iran with dozens of missiles.
