The Kano State Hisbah Board Department of Public Enlightenment has warned Christians non-Muslims in the state against eating in public places during the Ramadan period.
This was made known by the Director-General of the Board, Abba SaiāIdu during a chat with AIT Live.
According to him, it was unlawful for them to eat openly or engage in anything that would undermine the Islamic religion or put those fasting into temptation.
He noted that an enforcement team has been set up and would begin patrols across the city to arrest any Muslim caught practicing otherwise during the holy month.
Muslims are currently undergoing Ramadan fasting where they are expected to abstain from eating, drinking, smoking and sex.
