Golden generation stars fight to replace Peseiro

Five prominent figures from Nigeria's illustrious 1990s era have emerged as top contenders for the vacant Super Eagles coaching role.

According to several reports, Emmanuel Amunike, Daniel Amokachi, Sunday Oliseh, Samson Siasia, and Finidi George are all in the race to land the vacant managerial role at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

These legendary players reportedly submitted their bids to lead the national team before the deadline on Tuesday, March 12.

The NFF opened applications for the head coach position following the conclusion of Jose Peseiro's contract last month.

The football mother body failed to reach a new agreement with the Portuguese gaffer despite his impressive campaign at the African Cup of Nations.

Salisu Yusuf, Michael Nsien, Sylvanus Okpala, Ndubuisi Egbo, and António Conceicao da Silva Oliveira are all among the other notable contenders who have expressed interest in leading the three-time African champions.
