GTBank to delight shareholders with N73.5bn dividend payout

Shareholders will be rewarded with the whopping sum of N73.5bn in dividends from the Guaranty Trust Bank Plc.

This resolution was proposed and approved at the 30th Annual General Meeting of the lender which held on Monday, March 30, 2020, at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island Lagos.

This is the proceeds from the final dividend in respect of the 2019 financial year.

The sum of N73,577,948,060 from the profit after tax of the bank was approved at a rate of N2.50 kobo per 50 kobo Ordinary Share, thereby bringing the total dividend for shareholders in the 2019 financial year to N2.80k per ordinary share each," the statement read in part from the Stock Exchange website.

The dividends are subject to appropriate withholding tax deduction, to shareholders whose names appear in the Register of Members as at the close of business on Wednesday, March 18, 2020.
