The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has responded to a viral poster falsely alleging that popular Nigerian skitmaker Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ijekwu, better known as Sabinus, had been declared wanted by the agency.
The misleading poster, which made the rounds on social media, caused confusion among fans and followers of the comedian, sparking widespread reactions online.
Reacting via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the anti-graft agency dismissed the report as false and took a swipe at the skitmaker, suggesting that the controversy was an attempt to gain attention.
The EFCC’s response has since stirred conversations across social media, with many Nigerians weighing in on the growing trend of using controversial or misleading content for publicity.
While some users backed the agency’s reaction, others urged the public to verify information properly before sharing unconfirmed reports online.
